Crib mobiles are an adorable nursery accessory, but are they necessary? In this moms’ opinion, the answer is a resounding, YES!
But with so many to choose from, how do you know which is the best crib mobile for your baby?!?
I love my crib mobile for my littles. My son had an adorable woodland themed mobile and he used to love sitting under it in his crib. He graduated to a crib soother when he was old enough to crab the mobile and pull on it. Now my little girl uses one and does the same!
I love that crib mobiles can be used to entertain and soothe. In my experience, it made acclimating baby to the big crib, from the bassinet, much easier.
I use a crib mobile to entertain my little ones while I organize their clothes, fold laundry, or take a shower. It’s great for creating a calming atmosphere – perfect for sleeping.

Best Crib Mobile #1: Tiny Love Meadow Days Soothe ‘n Groove Mobile
This adorable mobile is one of the best baby mobile options for many different nursery themes. The design is gender neutral and features adorable little characters, sure to make you smile. The characters are a fox, a hedgehog, and a rabbit, all coupled with small accessories and a leaf pattern to the rotating portion of the crib mobile.
The best part of this baby mobile is the affordability. This is a moderately priced mobile and it is something you can use beyond the crib.
The crib mobile itself is only recommended until baby is old enough to sit up or grab the mobile (for safety reasons). However, if your little one is used to using the music to fall asleep, you can simply remove the arm and the base stays as a music maker.
The music maker can be used either attached to the crib or a separate walk around unit for busy toddlers. The bright colors of the buttons invite little fingers to press and explore all the sounds included with this baby mobile.

Best Crib Mobile #2: SHILOH Baby Crib Musical Mobile
SHILOH Baby Crib Musical Mobile is simply a spinning attachment unit. This makes the unit the best baby mobile for customizing your nursery! You can select which decorations you want to use in the nursery.
This is a quality baby mobile, and it will get the job done.
The music and the motor are operated separately, and you have full control over the volume levels. This way you can use just the motor for play time and adjust the music for creating the optimal space for napping.
In my opinion, the versatility this mobile offers makes it one of the best baby mobile options for the price. I can see the benefit of being able to change out the theme of the characters, especially if you plan to have more than one child.
Honestly, I wish I had known about this one when my son was little. I bought a new one to match my daughter’s nursery and could have saved myself both a step in the process and a little cash had I used the SHILOH mobile.

Best Crib Mobile #3: Baby Einstein Sea Dreams Soother
This one may not be a traditional crib soother, but is my personal favorite! My son is 2.5 years old and he still uses this every time he goes to sleep. He affectionately calls this “fishies”.
I love this mobile for the music, the remote (awesome for hands free, aka under the door, control!), the volume control, and the ability to control exactly what you need for your little one.
Inside the unit the turtle, crab, fish, and octopus all move. You can control if they move with the light, without the light, and if they move to music or to other sounds. The music plays for a total of 25 minutes gradually lowering the brightness of the light and the volume every 10 minutes until your little one is fast asleep
The starfish button on the side allows baby to turn the unit on and off if they want to. It uses a buckle system to secure to the side of the crib, it also can be set next to the crib for continued use with an older child (this is how we use it with my little guy).
My only complaints with this unit are:
- The crib strap doesn’t fit cribs with a thicker crib railing. I had a hard time finding an area that was convenient, easily seen and secured to the crib.
- The remote is convenient, but it has to be in direct line of site in order to work, and within just a few feet. I feel that it could have been a little more parent friendly by being a little more robust.
- My son uses this at each nap and bedtime and our batteries don’t last very long. Make sure you invest in some rechargeable C batteries. Rechargeable batteries will be your friend here!

I love each one of these units for the quality and affordability they offer. My favorite has to be the Baby Einstein unit because it has worked so well for so long with my son.
However, I really enjoy that the SHILOH is fully customizable, and the Tiny Love unit is just adorable!
